Tuv province is located in the central part of Mongolia and is also a seat for the capital city Ulaanbaatar. It is surrounded by the eastern part of Gobi desert, Bulgan, Henti and Selenge. It was established in 1931 and the province's government is located at Zuunmod prefecture, which is 43km away from its capital, Ulaanbaatar. The total territory is 74,800 square kilometerswith a population of 120,000 people.The ethnic groups include the Khaikh, the Kazakhs, and the Barga.
The chief attraction in Zuunmod is the Central Province Museum, opposite the south-east corner of the park - look for the sign in English. Manzushir Monastery - was built 1733 with 20 temples and 300 monks, it was destroyed in 1932. The last remaining temple was restored and contains now a small museum. It is in the lovely valley of Bogd Khaan Mountains National Park.

Bogdkhan Uul - 2122m high mountain Bogdkhan was proclaimed a national park as far back as 1778., South of Ulaanbaatar and west of Nalaikh. It surrounds Tsetseegun Uul and contains the Zaisan Memorial, Nukht and Manzshir Khiid.
Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve - local protected area for conservation of global threatened species. The Nature Reserve is founded by the Local Parliament, Tuv Province in 2003.
